About Muumin Village

we are making rice ,vegetables and much moreā€¦

iki is produced in Asahikawa City, located in the Kamikawa Basin on the northernmost island of Japan, Hokkaido. Along with its breathtaking natural beauty, Hokkaido is known for its harsh cold winters, and its hot by day, cool by night summers. Hokkaido has nearly one fourth of Japan's total arable land. Ranked first in the nation's production of a vast variety of agricultural products, Hokkaido produces rice, wheat, barley, hops, soy beans, potato, pumpkin, corn, melon, milk, seafood and so much more. Hokkaido is known as "the bread basket of Japan," and specifically Asahikawa City, which is one of the nation's best regions for growing rice, because of the large temperature difference between day and night. Rice production in Hokkaido began in 1887, and even through decades of trial and error, the area has never failed to have a consistent annual harvest.

Asahikawa City is surrounded by four major rivers and towering mountains that receive heavy snowfall during the winter months, endowing the region with many pure water sources, and the perfect climate for growing delicious rice.
